Planet RNG Mutations — All Observed Types & Values

Mutations are prefixes on weapons that carry stat bonuses. Unlocks pop a card; the bonused weapon keeps the prefix in its name.

What a mutation is

A mutation is a prefix carried by a weapon name — a Plasma Golden Axiom, a Lunar Ultima Reactor, a Stellar Crown of Heaven. When one unlocks, the game stops the screen with a 'MUTATION UNLOCKED' card showing the mutation, its tier (a Roman numeral), the weapon it landed on and exactly what it adds.

That card is the entire evidence chain for this page: every value below was read off one of those cards, mid-run, with the weapon visible.

Observed mutations and their values

The game's official description counts 10+ mutations with 5 secret ones. These are the types we have caught on camera so far; the Roman numeral tiers shown are the ones actually written on the cards.

Mutations attach to whatever the weapon rolls

The same mutation appears on different weapons in different sessions — Plasma I showed up on a Golden Axiom, an Ultima Edge and an Infinite Regress within our footage. That means mutations are a layer applied to the roll outcome, not a fixed property of specific weapons.

The practical upshot: a fixed +3%/+9% on one weapon looks small, but every mutated weapon in the Arsenal carries its own copy. Across a full collection the percentages are a permanent, multiplying efficiency gain.

Events stack mutations

The Meteor Shower event line reads '2x Radioactive mutations', which tells us mutation outcomes can be amplified during events. If you are farming specifically for mutations, the event window is the time to roll — the modifier is visible in the event strip at the bottom of the screen.

Tiers and what the Roman numerals mean

Plasma I and Lunar III are observed, so tiers exist and at least some mutations have three steps. Lunar III's +19% Luck versus Plasma I's +3%/+9% suggests higher tiers scale the same bonus rather than changing its type — but we have only one point per tree, so treat tier scaling as unconfirmed until more cards are read.

What we have not confirmed

The secret five mutations named in the official description have not appeared in any of our footage, the Stellar card's bonus text sat behind a shop tag, and nobody has filmed what happens when the same mutation rolls on an already-mutated weapon. Those gaps are logged rather than filled — the mutations table grows as cards are read.

FAQ

Planet RNG Mutations — All Observed Types & Values FAQ

What does the Plasma mutation do in Planet RNG?

Plasma I adds +3% Damage and +9% Fire Rate, as printed on three separate MUTATION UNLOCKED cards. Fire Rate feeds directly into DPS, so the effective damage gain is larger than the +3% line alone suggests.

How many mutations does Planet RNG have?

The official description says 10+ mutations plus 5 secret ones. We have frame-verified four families so far (Plasma, Lunar, Stellar, Radioactive) — the full list needs more unlock cards on camera.

Do mutations apply to planets or only weapons?

Every card we have read applied to a weapon name. No mutation card has ever appeared on the Planets panel in our footage, so mutations are documented as a weapon layer only.
