Planet RNG Potions — The Four Types & How Stacking Works

Four potions, each doubling a different part of the loop. They sit in the inventory as stacks and run down on a visible timer.

The four potions

The Inventory splits weapons and potions under separate tabs, and the potions come in exactly four flavours. Each card prints '2x' plus what it boosts, and the cards are colour-coded to match — the same colours echo through the HUD while a potion is active.

PotionEffect (as printed)Colour on card
2x Luck Potion2x Luck for its durationGreen
2x Roll Speed2x Roll Speed for its durationBlue
2x Damage2x Damage for its durationRed
2x Money2x Credits for its durationGold

Where potions come from

Codes are the main faucet: seven of the eight active codes we track hand out potions, in bundles from one to six. Daily login rewards also pay potions (Day 2, 3, 5 and 6 are potion-plus-coin days), and 'Coins x2 Potion' style labels mean the reward includes both currencies of the reward system.

Because codes expire and daily rewards reset, potions are the resource that rewards players who check in regularly — the inventory read showed 23 Luck Potions banked in a single save.

Stacking and the ACTIVE pills

Potions do not replace each other. Each card carries an 'ACTIVE' pill with a countdown and an xN count — our read caught 'ACTIVE 11:33 x23' on Luck, x1 on Roll Speed and Damage, and x3 on Money simultaneously. The count reflects how many copies are stacked into the same timer.

The practical reading of the xN badges: you can bank duplicates long before you use them, then enter a big session with the stack topped up.

The HUD countdown

Active effects are visible outside the inventory: a small always-on list shows each running potion with a minute:second countdown. In one session we read four timers simultaneously — three just under 19:38 and one at 19:36 — which is the longest set we have captured running together.

One caveat we will not paper over: inventory cards describe the buffs as 'for 10 min', while those HUD reads count down from ~19:38. Either the duration differs by source, or the card text understates it. The question is logged until a clean before/after capture settles it.

When to pop which potion

The classic order is Money first (double credits while you destroy the biggest planet you have), then Luck and Roll Speed together when you settle into a rolling session, and Damage when a new planet's target pool is slow to clear. During Meteor Shower, Luck Potions compound with the event's own +50% Luck — that pairing is the strongest observed use of a potion in the game.

Potions versus passes

Potions are timed; the store's 2x passes are permanent. The pass list includes 2x Perm Luck, 2x Perm Money and 2x Perm Roll Speed at 299 R$ each, and those stack with potion effects rather than replacing them. If you ever buy one thing, a permanent 2x on the stat you use most outlasts every potion you will ever redeem.

FAQ

Planet RNG Potions — The Four Types & How Stacking Works FAQ

How long do potions last in Planet RNG?

Inventory cards print 'for 10 min', but our HUD reads showed countdowns around 19:38. Both observations are real; the discrepancy is logged as an open question until a controlled capture settles it.

Do potions stack with each other?

Yes — different potion types all run at once (we filmed all four simultaneously), and duplicates of one type stack into an xN count on the same card. There is no evidence of a stacking cap for the four standard types.

What is the best potion to use first?

2x Money while destroying your highest-multiplier planet, and 2x Luck during a rolling session — especially during a Meteor Shower event, when the two luck sources compound.
